About

This site, in its simplest form, began as an expression of dedication and gratitude to the art of traveling.

I have learned that we human beings often find ourselves preoccupied with worries about careers, money, friends, family, love or the lack thereof. I then learned that traveling allows us to reevaluate and re-appreciate our lives. Travel allows us to be unique, to share stories that convey passion and spark genuine conversation. It allows us the opportunity to meet and speak with people that may change your perspective forever.

The site has grown up, just as I have. I am no longer a self-proclaimed vagabond, wandering from country to country, not knowing what continent I might call home next. I settled down and planted some roots, first in Chicago and now in the beautiful Phoenix area. While you will find anecdotes and advice from my time traveling, working, and backpacking abroad, you will also find posts pertaining to domestic travel, job searching, social media use, design and marketing, love, relationships, and the occasional photo essay.

This site now, in its simplest form, is about discovering the beauty, oddities, and curiosities that surround us day-to-day. I travel near and far, home and abroad, to tell you stories and give advice about what you may like to discover as well.

    1. Thank you! And the same for you. I’ve loved reading about your adventures in the great white north. I met a good friend from Canada while teaching in Korea and she’s taught me a lot about her homeland, mostly that they no longer say “gams.”

      Looking forward to reading more!

  2. I remember when “seeing how the other half lives” meant a lunch party in the “ritzy” part of the neighborhood! Now, it’s traveling to distant places…
